MATT'S BIO
Matt Madly presents his latest release on Think Tank Records, “Through the Glass” available April 1st on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, and Bandcamp. The album features members of Jesse Malin’s (Way Cool Records) backing band including Randy Schrager on Drums and James Cruz on Bass. It also features keyboardist Andy Burton (John Mayer, Cyndi Lauper, Little Steven). The 10 songs were recorded and mixed at Think Tank Studio in Hoboken, NJ by sound engineer and producer Bil Emmons who has toured doing live sound for such artists as Mumford and Sons, David Gray and Muse.
Matt Azzarto has been making music since the mid-eighties as a founding member of The Fundamentals, a Jersey-based alternative rock band signed to Paradox/MCA. He then went on to work with The Gefkens who scored a publishing deal with Largo Music and took the proceeds and built their own recording studio which has served many artists including Sonic Youth, Nancy Sinatra, Peter, Bjorn and John, Jesse Malin, Pete Yorn, Don Fleming, Skanatra, and many others over its 25 year existence.
For the last 10+ years or so, Matt has recorded and performed under the moniker Matt Madly. He has released (4) records including Checkered (2008), Mistaken (2012), Young Folks (2016) and Restless Hopeful (2019). The latter features mixes from Ed Stasium and Stewart Lerman - (2) recording veterans with amazing track records (look them up).
